We'd love to have you join us!

To Join the Fiddleheads

Members must be 7 years of age to join and have a minimum of two years playing experience.

Students need to be comfortable learning tunes be ear, be familiar with all the note names on the fingerboard and be able to play basic fiddle tunes at a medium tempo(i.e. Liza Jane,  Bird on a Twig).

Please note that Fiddleheads is a supplemental music program and  is not intended to be the main music lesson for students. Private lessons are needed in order to make the technical progress needed to move up playing levels within the group.

Rehearsals Expectations

Rehearsals take place on Mondays from 6p.m. to 6:50p.m. with an additional advanced class for back row fiddlers from 7p.m. to 7:45p.m. Students are expected to arrive a few minutes early to tune and warm up.  There will also be 4-6 additional mentor sessions for new/younger Fiddleheads from 5:30p.m. to 5:50p.m. in the fall.

There are three weekend retreats (Sept/Feb/May). Attendance is mandatory as these are big repertoire  building blocks for our season and we bring up wonderful outside instructors  (plus they are a lot of fun!)

Students are responsible for ensuring they know their part and are expected to practice at home if they need extra work on a piece (s).

If you will miss a rehearsal or performance, please let Keitha  know.
